Fantastic Beasts

TITLE: Fantastic Beasts and where to find them
ROLE: ART DIRECTION, Presentation DESIGN and Conceptualising

When approached to work on an Augmented Reality app, Book design and concept for a pitch by a major publisher for a the then nascent and newly optioned Harry Potter spin-off ‘Fantastic Beasts and where to find them by Newt Scamander’ we jumped at the chance. The concept was to create an icon that is linked heavily with the book utilising the colours and iconography. A book of spells with an icon any Harry Potter fan will recognise.

The presentation included a book cover presentation and spread design and special items. No text or imagery was available so all elements had to be pulled from archive. The work was developed and presented to JK Rowling herself and her feedback was amazing.
